Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco del Monferrato 2026 — Montechiaro d'Asti, and Where to Stay

← Back to Blog

The Season's Final Truffle Fair — and the Closest to Home

Montechiaro d'Asti closes out the region's truffle fair circuit with its own Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco del Monferrato, one of the longest-running of the group. Expect a full day of lunches, truffle markets, live music, comedy and cultural exhibitions in the historic centre — plus a historical procession with flag-wavers and musicians linked to Montechiaro's own Palio tradition.

The town, founded around 1200, is also known for its Romanesque churches, making it worth a slow wander beyond the fair itself.

When & Where

When: Sunday 8 November 2026
Where: Historic centre of Montechiaro d'Asti (AT)

Where to Stay: Bric del Vento, Soglio

This is the closest event on the calendar to Bric del Vento — Montechiaro d'Asti is practically a neighbouring village.

  • Distance to the event: about 3 km from Soglio — a 5-minute drive (or a pleasant short walk/cycle for guests who prefer to skip the car)
  • Stay at the estate the night before and be at the fair for opening, then come back for a late white-truffle lunch at Bric del Vento using what you picked up that morning
  • The shortest, easiest event to pair with a Bric del Vento stay — "3 km away" is about as close as it gets
