Fiera Nazionale del Tartufo di Moncalvo 2026 — Where to Stay Nearby

Italy's Smallest "Città," One of Its Oldest Truffle Fairs

Moncalvo — officially the smallest "città" in Italy and once the capital of the Marquisate of Montferrat — hosts one of the oldest and best-established truffle fairs in the region. Now in its 72nd edition, the fair fills Moncalvo's historic centre with truffle markets, exhibitor stalls, show cooking from local chefs, and the awarding of the "Tartufo d'Oro" and "Zappino d'Argento" trophies.

It's a full three-day affair spread across two weekends, giving visitors more flexibility than the single-Sunday fairs nearby.

When & Where

When: Sunday 18, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October 2026 (72nd edition)
Where: Historic centre of Moncalvo (AT)

Where to Stay: Bric del Vento, Soglio

Moncalvo is the furthest of the truffle fairs from Bric del Vento, but still an easy day trip through classic Monferrato countryside.

  • Distance to the event: approximately 20 km from Soglio — around 25–30 minutes by car
  • Combine a morning at the Moncalvo fair with a stop in one of the smaller hill villages along the way, then return to the estate for the evening
  • A good pick for guests staying multiple nights who want to see more than one truffle town during their trip
