Caffè Bar Roma is Cocconato's all-day social centre — the place where the village pauses, together, several times a day. The morning crowd is the village workers and farmers arriving early; the midday crowd is the retired and the passing visitor; the aperitivo hour brings the rest. The rhythm is entirely natural, entirely unmanaged, and entirely what a village bar should be.

The enoteca selection is genuinely excellent and worth spending time with if you want to take some bottles home: local Barbera from producers within a few kilometres, Grignolino from the estates of the Monferrato, Moscato from the Canelli area. The owner knows the producers personally, which means the recommendations reflect actual relationships rather than distributor listings. Walk-ins welcome; open from 7am to 10pm.
