Grass-Fed Beef and a 9.7 Rating

Casa Serra sits inside the Valleandona Natural Reserve — an eco-resort with its own pastures where slow-aged, grass-fed Fassone beef is the centrepiece of the menu. The rating (9.7 out of 10 on TheFork) reflects both the seriousness of the kitchen and the quality of the setting, which manages to feel both remote and effortlessly put-together. The Fassone breed — Piemonte's native cattle — produces some of the finest beef in Italy, with a leanness and a depth of flavour that bears no resemblance to industrial alternatives.

The property also has a pool, a spa and rooms, which means a visit here can easily extend into a full half-day or full-day experience rather than a simple lunch. The bistrot is the most accessible entry point, but the combination of reserve setting, good food and facilities makes Casa Serra one of the more complete destinations in the territory. Reservation is essential — the kitchen works at its own pace and that is part of the experience.
