Luisella's intimate stone-vaulted restaurant in the village of Villa San Secondo seats only a few tables, which means the food gets the attention it deserves and the atmosphere is genuinely personal in the way that only a small room can be. Handmade agnolotti, veal tonnato and house Barbera at a price that makes you look twice: €35 covers everything — the antipasti, the pasta, the secondo, the wine, the dessert. The arithmetic is impossible to argue with and nobody here sees any reason to change it.
The evenings are the time to come: the stone vault is at its best when it is lit and full, and Luisella's cooking has the quality of something that has been refined through repetition rather than through ambition — the same dishes made better each time they are made. Reservation is essential; the room is small and fills quickly, particularly at weekends. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
