Tour · Half Day
A curated half-day tour through the Barbera and Grignolino vineyards of the Monferrato — visiting local cellars, tasting direct from the barrel and finishing at the Bric del Vento winery. The Astigiano has one of the most varied and underappreciated wine cultures in all of Italy: Barbera d'Asti DOCG, Grignolino d'Asti DOC, Moscato d'Asti DOCG, Freisa — grape varieties and styles that cover a remarkable range, from the most everyday to the most serious, and that are almost entirely consumed within the territory rather than exported. A morning or afternoon in the cellars gives you a context for the wines you have been drinking all week.
We arrange this tour based on the season and what is happening in the territory at the time of your visit: harvest visits in September when the cellars are alive with activity, barrel tastings in winter when the new wine is resting and the winemakers have time to talk, vineyard walks in spring when the vines are budding and the landscape is at its most open. Contact us when you book and we will tailor the route to the time of year and your interests. Included for villa guests on request; the best period is March through November.
